Next film on Monday 7 March: SUNU

maize Sunu

This beautifully filmed documentary takes us deep into Mexico, to show how the country’s ancient, staple food crop, maize, is bound up in the rural people’s determination to stay free, work the land,  cultivate their seeds and remain true to their cultures and spirituality —  in a modern world that both needs them and despises them. Watch the trailer here. Venue as usual is Nanna’s, 274 St Paul’s Rd, doors open early, film starts at 7pm, and donations are welcome to help fund future screenings.
